On this day 12 years ago, Pokemon Platinum Version was released in Japan in 2008. Platinum is considered an enhanced version of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, introducing more features and Pokemon to the main story with a focus on Giratina.

Aerodactylus is a genus of pterosaur, containing only a single species, Aerodactylus scolopaciceps. While the name means "wind finger," it was given the name based on the Pokemon, Aerodactyl. The Pokemon, is a combination of many types of toothed pterosaurs, dragons and wyverns.
In Detective Pikachu, R is a chemical created from Mewtwo's cells Berserk Gene. It causes Pokemon to temporarily go violent and looses control of itself and from its' trainer. After the effects wear off, the Pokemon is unaware of what has happened, becoming weak and tired.

Morpeko is the only one who does NOT learn Nuzzle in the group of "Pikachu Clones."
A "Pikachu Clone" is a fan term relating to a group of Electric-Type Pokemon with electric sacs on their face. Prior to generation 8, Nuzzle was exclusive to this set of Pokemon.
Ditto being unable to change it's facial appearance was considered an unusual problem, first experienced with Duplica's Ditto in the anime. However, due to the popularity, this has become a reoccurring gag in the anime as well as other media such as games, movies and the TCG.
In Movie 13, the intro contains a scene of Ash battling Ethan from the video games. However, this is not Jimmy, Ethan/Gold's other anime counterpart from the Legend of Thunder specials. Settei sheets from the movie name the character Hibiki (Ethan) not Kenta (Jimmy) in Japanese.
