@larrykingundead @ComicPerch Pop Mhan. Who isn't a bad artist, but it just didn't "fit" Ghost Rider. Not with the stories Ivan Velez was doing anyway. Ghost Rider looked to be getting back on track with Saltares & Tex returning, but too little too late. It was swiftly canceled after they began.

25 years ago...

The last gasp of the Ultaverse line began

1987 just wasn't Mike W. Barr's year. DC swept his Batman plot points under the rug with a brutal swiftness and took away his editorship over The Outsiders. By the end of the year, Barr was off Detective Comics and Outsiders was cancelled after 4 years.

Marvel's "Real World Avengers"

Justice League had a pretty good track record of knocking it out of the park with each restart.

Its really been 19 years??

It took me a bit to get into Ed McGuinness' work, but then I fell in love with it the more I saw it.

I recall thinking Mr. Majestic is good, but Ed would kick ass on Supes.

And a few months later he did, and I was picking up Superman again after being away a couple years.

What a cock tease this issue of Uncanny X-Men was. We all wanted a Joe Mad Spider-Man title STAT after this.
