@Baptos_ cant think of many off the top of my head since hatching as a concept is inherently anti-animation, but at the very least the hatching shud be in the same direction and preferably at different line weights. When its all haphazard and random such as in the Gaara image its ugly imo

took me 4 minutes to find Toshihisa Kaiya's work on the fourth episode of FMA (2003) - exact same shorthand approach, really clean

part of the reason I sided with Komori over him originally is because on #56 and #92 Kaiya is credited alone and nothing really stands out but its entirely possible he did small cuts or conformed to Chikara Sakurai's corrections. On #92 at least he might've drawn this short scene
