Shibumi mentions the irony of Digimon evolving into different forms, bigger and more powerful, with shapes far different than the shape of their human creators.
Shibumi, Mizuno Gorou, explains that the Four Holy Beasts are the Digimon gods and they reside in the highest level of the Digital World in their realm. Takato recognizes them as Qinglongmon and the others, protectors of the Digital World.
The Digimon could do that on their own in the past, but they don't have this power anymore. And so to evolve they must make a contract with God, worship God and follow its wishes.
In order to do that Makuramon captures Culumon, a "object" that they need to evolve to higher levels, but that was lost in the past.
However now the humans are treating the Digital World making harder to the Digimon to evolve, and so the Digimon are going to fight in order to save their world and continue their evolution.
Then a message is sent from a deep layer of the network, claiming that although humans created the Digimon, due to their evolution the humans aren't their gods anymore and all that the Digimon wants is to protect their world.
But he explains that it isn't that easy. For those who have faith in the Asura, the Deva are evil gods. As good and evil aren't absolute, they change according to the point of view.
Lee asked to its professor what the Deva are. He explains that "Deva" is an Indian Sanskrit word that means "god", "holy spirit", and "sacred general". In Hinduism they are holy beings that fights the Asura, demons that brings misfortune. Lee asks if the Deva are good gods.
But the Humans abandoned the Digimon, they were only lifeless remains of data wandering around the Digital World, until with the power of the Digimon god, they were able to evolve as true Digimon.
Renamon asks to Vajramon what this "God" really is. Vajramon explains that God is the God for they, the Digimon. In the past they were data created by humans but now they have a life.
