@DiLeed @Mr_K_Teacher @ksandsoconnor @rapclassroom @LetterboxLib @Booktrust @moonlaneink @Mat_at_Brookes Hi David! A couple of excellent new books I’ve read this year (and shared with students) are The Serpent’s Secret and Amal Unbound.
@AustralasianEdu @DrNomyn Have you read the Hilda series by Luke Pearson? Beautiful art and stories.
#EndlingTheLast (Book 1) by @kaaauthor is a quest that expands from the preservation of one bereft and unassuming ‘dairne’ to a battle for all nonhuman species. The good-hearted companions are beautifully and softly illustrated by #MaxKostenko on the cover and part openers.
@smithsmm Three brilliant new children’s novels. #TheSerpentsSecret #FrontDesk #AmalUnbound
@Mat_at_Brookes Julie Vivas’ illustrations are so wonderful. Have you read this picturebook - a Holocaust story - by Margaret Wild?
@Mrs_A_Dickens @_Reading_Rocks_ The Serpent’s Secret by @Sayantani16 is an action packed and funny adventure with short chapters - Year 4 classroom at my school are LOVING it.
@MizDanaClaire @son1bun @olugbemisola @gigideegee @svetlania @NatachaBustos @robochai @bmontclare @otisframpton Oh yay, can’t wait for #OzyandMillie! Thank you!
@MrsFraserSAB Graphic novels definitely! You could try the hugely popular series of graphic novels Amulet (there are currently 7 with two more to go). Also have a look at Kazu Kibuishi’s @boltcity website.
@runningscott59 @marygtroche @TeresaCremin @PieCorbett Do you also know Mouse Tales? Another formative book for me by Arnold Lobel. Its sentences and pictures are now flashing in my mind!
