@UniquePaleoart I very much hope so but I'd still be worried. Right now the results are bad because the training data aren't focused on dinosaurs. They've gone from blobs to dogs in a couple years. May never be good enough for scientific use but will be good enough to take illustration jobs.

It can also be used for fan art, only on a limited basis for now... but here is some art of Odysseus x2 and then Arthas and Jaina from Warcraft, in the style of John William Waterhouse. Really scarily good.
Also btw I will only do this style copying stuff on long-dead artists.

Obviously it's still getting things wrong, and I'm going through variations and picking the best, but a month ago you couldn't even get a person with just 1 nose and 2 eyes. Pretty alarmed at the rate of improvement. Here's Copley, and Rosa Bonheur. Zoom in on the brushstrokes.

Remember 2 months ago when Midjourney came onto the scene and we felt fear for art jobs while being slightly reassured that most of its outputs were mangled messes? It has improved EXTREMELY alarmingly quickly since. Some examples based on dead artists' styles. No art is safe.

@47ness Love that series of yours! I only realized much later that in the SC1 beta, they folded into a compact flight mode. I thought it was just 2 different models rather than a transformation. Still gonna pretty big if the cabin's enclosed, but could be the same height when folded.

@dubeg_ The model used for the in-game graphics looked like this, not detailed enough for cinematic use.
