@LandofObscusion @VinnieAveAGC Good callout- regardless of the name, I believe the reaver was inspired by the Ohmu, so the thanks makes a bit more sense than some of the other things in SC's credits.
@WryCritic Super cool and impressively natural poses. I'm not sure how well DALLE is capturing the Leyendecker style. I tried the same prompt in Midjourney, as well as adding "Magazine Cover" to some, I feel like it gives more fun compositions with that even though they're all blobby.
Currently I can see this being a thumbnail sketch generator that in theory can speed up your process / give more inspiration faster than scrolling through google image references. Prompt here was "dramatic western sunset."
Right now this particular one seems to fail at photorealism but excel at paintings. These are some where I asked for sci-fi book cover art. I do think it's possible that, say, book publishers would basically never pay a non-big name artist for this style of sci fi art anymore.
Got in Midjourney's beta, and it's a bit frightening. IMO this tech's explosion is unavoidable, artists can't ignore it. Even if you won't use it, should be familiar with it. These are AI John Singer Sargent paintings of dinosaurs and cowboys crossing a river at dawn. Thread 1/?
@arvalis @TheAcademy The tiny thumbnail artworks of different planets in Episode 1 Racer were SO imagination-provoking, and it's downright criminal we still haven't seen podraces over frozen lakes, etc.
The artists did a great job differentiating the same units/structures for each of the many different factions. All distinct, recognizable, and all distinctly Star Wars.
