Just finished this private commission for a fan of @PhilipPullman’s #bookofdust novels. It's inspired by a beautiful passage near the end of The Secret Commonwealth, where Lyra enters the City of the Moon. I love these books too, so it was a treat to illustrate this scene.

Like many people, I've always been profoundly drawn to the sea. I'm lucky enough to live near it and swim in it often. Being in the sea always feels like coming home and being held. Perhaps it's because we start our lives, cradled in salt water.
