27 Nov 1777 Continental Congress recommends states confiscate all Loyalist property, triggering mass exodus to Canada.

27 Nov 1773 Tea ship, Dartmouth, 1st of 3 ships to be involved in Boston Tea Party, reached Boston but Sons of Liberty prevented its unloading. By law, if the tea was not unloaded within 20 days, it would be seized and sold to pay customs duties.

26 Nov 1776 the body of Peyton Randolph arrives @ Williamsburg, VA, for re-interment at his alma mater, College of William & Mary. Randolph died on October 22, 1775, at the age of 54, while in Phila representing Virginia in the 2nd Continental Congress.

24 Nov 1758, Young Colonel George Washington led his troops from the Virginia Regiment on an advance that occupied the smoking ruins of the abandoned French Fort Duquesne at the convergence of the Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers.

23 Nov 1779 – Deputy Quartermaster General James Abeel informs Gen Nathanael Greene that they may have found a good place for the winter camp with timber, water, space, and dry ground and would set off to make a thorough inspection.

21 Nov 1776 Gen George Washington writes to Gen Charles Lee in Westchester, NY, to report the loss of Fort Lee, and to order Lee to bring his forces to NJ. Lee wanted to stay in NY, so he dawdled in departing and delayed crossing the Hudson to NJ.

20 Nov 1779 Quartermaster General Nathanael Greene has begun his personal inspection of potential NJ winter campsites He writes the Commander in Chief that the site favored by Col Abeel & Gen Lord Stirling is unsatisfactory (too little wood) & will continue his search.

19 Nov 1775 Quebec, CA Col Benedict Arnold withdraws from city to Point aux Trembles to avoid attack by Lt Col Allen Maclean. But Maclean uses the time to prepare his defenses around the city.

18 Nov 1775 Fort Ninety-Six, SC. Col Patrick Cunningham’s 1,800 Loyalists invest the 600 rebels under Col Andrew Williamson. A desultory exchange of shots occurs over the next few days.
