Apparently being a modern anime "fan" just means manufacturing controversy and feigning outrage over any series with the slightest bit of edge to appear virtuous in a world where fiction is no longer separated from reality.
The Burger King Kids Club doesn't hold a candle to the types of people Goten & Trunks grew up around.
Toriyama did nothing wrong. It's funny how the "representation" crowd acts as though fiction must mirror real life but then praises character designs with little distinction between types of people that are ultimately less accurate to reality.
What are some Japanese works you were disappointed with or decided not to buy due to censorship & localization? Reply with the title, an example of said edit, & tag the company if possible. Show them these changes are unacceptable.

Mario has always had plenty of character, as demonstrated in multiple cartoons & comics. Game journalists, though...now there's a bunch completely lacking in character.
