Dragon Quest V for the Super Famicom is 30 years old today. The game was fan translated in 2001 but wasn't officially released in the West until the DS remake in '09. DQV is a grand adventure that follows the hero from childhood to having a family of his own.

It's my first time trying to turn a sketch into digital art. Can't even begin to tell you how many slurs I dropped at my PC trying to draw steadily with the mouse.
From sketch to digital. My original drawing is from way back in '07 so I didn't want to ink it & risk messing it up. Line art with a mouse is really frustrating, but it turned out okayish. Maybe I'll add some more detail & color shading someday.
There's only one asset that must remain unchanged to keep the audience happy.
