Wizards of the Coast failed once they started applying modern sensibilities to fictional worlds & their inhabitants. The issue is not the content, it's the people who make up imaginary problems with it so they have a villain to battle.
Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen's localization changes a variety of dialogue that could be perceived as offensive to the usual subset of weak-minded Westerners who believe the world should revolve around their sensibilities.
Super Mario Kart is 30 years old today. Racing generally isn't my genre, but SMK put a unique spin on it with a colorful cast of familiar characters. The gameplay & controls are excellent. Battle vs mode is great, too. Koopa Troopa is my favorite racer.
Storytelling has regressed & stagnated because these so-called creators are incapable of making anything that doesn't warp established IPs to suit modern standards.
It's amazing how people can watch their culture be ravaged by these insidious movements, claim to be against it, & yet not recognize the issue when you show them it's taking root elsewhere. They wonder how it happened, but they supported its beginnings.
Dungeons & Dragons is just a brand, it shares little with the original game's roots. Wizards turned it into a sanitized shell of its former self made to appeal to people who need to "see themselves" in everything they interact with.
