Although the story differs from the manga a bit, the Bamboo Blade anime is pretty good too. Definitely worth a watch.

None of this inspires confidence that translators are trying to stay faithful to the original text, especially coming from a person who among other missteps, recently defended an intentional mistranslation that changed a character's identity.

Providing counterexamples only serves to validate a premise that should be rejected. Anime & fiction in general isn't obligated to treat characters a certain way or "represent" anything other than the creator's story.

Capcom Fighting Collection removes this artwork of Morrigan & Lilith from Vampire Savior 2. While most of the changes listed are bug fixes, a couple Darkstalkers titles have all secret endings removed. These classics should be preserved intact.

The character artwork for Harvestella looks good, with the last two being candidates for the "best girl" category.

This a perfect example of that sentiment.

Localizers are framing it this way because their "work" is being checked against the original source material only to discover a host of unnecessary changes. They have no valid defense & would rather pretend it's harassment instead of translating accurately.

They also created the Bimmy & Jimmy intro with a careless spelling error.

The only thing that detracted from it were the goofy subbing choices, which is no fault of the series itself.
