The Lost Sheep from A Year of Stories and Things To Do

Cows were very nice. But best of all Alfie liked sheep. One day Alfie and Grandma were out for a walk, they saw a black-faced sheep standing in the middle of the lane all by herself. She was baa-img very loudly at the other sheep and they were baa-big back from behind the fence.

At tea-time Dave was rather quiet. In the bath he was even quieter. At bed-time he said:
‘I want Dogger.’
But Dogger was nowhere to be found.

Dave’s big sister, Bella, took seven teddies to bed with her every night. She had to sleep right up against the wall to stop herself from falling out. But Dave liked only Dogger. 2/2

‘I am your Fairy Godmother. It’s my job to see that you go the ball.’

Ella caused quite a stir when she arrived at the ball. None of the guests had seen such a striking girl before or one who was dressed so beautifully.
