Commemoration of St. Paul the Apostle
This day is the special feast of St. Paul. The Acts and his fourteen Epistles tell us about his life and give us a model what a truly pastoral life should be. His interior life lies open before us in these divine writings as an example.
Third Sunday after Pentecost

St. Columba (597)
Abbott and Missionary, with his 12 disciples he erected monasteries on the island of Iona. He is credited with the main role in the conversion of Scotland. Excavations in 1958 and 1959 revealed Columba’s living cell and the outline of the original monastery.
St. Gregory VII, Pope (1085)
In his youth Hildebrand was professed in the Order of St. Benedict. He became one of the greatest Popes, and deposed the Emperor of Germany, Henry IV. He died in exile at Salerno.

The Apparition of St. Michael the Archangel - Mount Gargano, Italy (492)
Today’s feast is kept in commemoration of the apparition of St. Michael the Archangel that took place under the pontificate of Pope Gelasius 1st, in Apulia, on the top of Mount Gargano.
St. John before the Latin Gate (95 AD)
The Emperor Domitian caused St. John to be apprehended and sent in chains to Rome. He was condemned into a cauldron of boiling oil, but the oil changed into a refresing bath. A sanctuary was built on this spot near the Latin gate.
The Finding of the Holy Cross (326)
After the victory gained by Constantine through the Cross, Empress Helena, his mother, was admonished by God in a dream to go to Jerusalem to find the sacred tree. The miraculous cure of a woman verified the Holy Cross.
