Only just discovered this very good review of my #cryptozoology book with @thejohnconway and @cmkosemen, Cryptozoologicon Volume I: https://t.co/Q17MSV55ux Thanks indeed @ChristinaBooks. Volume II is in preparation right now.
Join us in #Falmouth from March 20th onwards for MONSTERS OF THE DEEP, a new exhibition at the National Maritime Museum, devoted to sea monster lore and the discovery of deep-sea life. Featuring #cryptozoology, mythology, deep-sea animals and more... https://t.co/Sm6gATthoK
@MarkScherz made a thing, Charlie Underwood modified it, and there's an older version that did a similar thing... #TeamFish
@TimVersteeg4 Huge #matamata fan :) (a whole series of articles written on them in the #TetZoo archives).
Looks like the third edition of #Dinosaurs: How They Lived & Evolved is done and published. It'll be a few weeks before it's on sale though. It's the same as the second edition bar one figure caption though - we didn't have time to make all the changes we wanted to! #books
@Ichnologist @JanFreedman @DSRovinsky @TwilightBeasts @DoubleBeam @MikeTaylor @AndyFarke @JoschuaKnuppe I also feel compelled to add that Catherine Zeta-Jones has been used as a human scale bar here and there online.
@Ichnologist @JanFreedman @DSRovinsky @TwilightBeasts @DoubleBeam @MikeTaylor Palaeontologist Andrew Farke @AndyFarke has often been used as a scale bar, mostly in connection with ceratopsians (because that's the group he specialises on)...
And here's the Papo 2008 Humpback from the same range. Again, it has a mobile lower jaw and is great. But its proportions are weird - I think the tailstock should be longer. More #whales another time! #toyanimals #animalmodels
Scansoriopterygids - small, tree-climbing maniraptoran #theropods, sometimes with membranous wings - are often depicted as screaming little dragons. I say that they would have looked like goofy bat-winged parrots: https://t.co/5vXTaNSJak Art by @eawilloughby & @thejohnconway.
@CentralCenozoic @paleo_pop I wrote some articles on them at #TetZoo back in 2008, though they're now a bit out of date. Part 1: https://t.co/siBUUKgt7j and Part 2: https://t.co/GayeYuqNwE #mammals #fossilmammals #Cenozoic #astrapotheres
