Friday Jan 7th - Still Life with Flowers and a Spotted Dog (1946) by Bristol-born artist Mary Fedden (1915-2012).
@museumbums @BMAGimages I'm reminded of Pontormo's 1520s thirst selfie, in the collection of the @BritishMuseum.
Dec 19th - From the "Cor, blimey!" to the sublime, with Taddeo Gaddi's fresco of the 'Annunciation to the Shepherds' (c.1328-38) in the Baroncelli Chapel at the Basilica di Santa Croce. #AdventCalendar

Sad to hear that Chris Achilléos has died. As well as the Target Doctor Who books I’d borrow from the school library, his ‘Lord of Chaos’ was a poster on my bedroom wall as a goth-leaning pre-teen. RIP
@metmuseum Dec 7th - 'Winter Landscape with Figures on a Path' (1832) by John Constable, a copy of an original by the Dutch landscapist Jacob van Ruisdael. (Picture: @ChristiesInc) #AdventCalendar
Dec 3rd - Dressing for the Carnival (1877) by Winslow Homer. The man in costume is dressed for Junkonnu, a Boxing Day festival celebrated in the Caribbean and American South. The sombre mood and the childen's flags hint at the realities of the "American Dream". #AdventCalendar
I think @Chaptertweets should do a mini film festival that sparks a crime wave. What do you say, @pixieglas? #NickFletcher
Deep Purple in their pomp were one of the soundtracks of my childhood. Grew up with these, listened to on oversized Philips headphones. @BBC6Music
