The anniversary of the Temple of Concordia was held by the #Romans in Rome on 22nd July. The Temple stood at the foot of the Capitoline Hill and was first consecrated in 367BC and largely rebuilt between 7-10AD. Parts survive and can still be seen today.

Happy #FathersDay - The #Roman paterfamilias, or "father of the family", the oldest male in a family, had full control over his family. He could sell his children into slavery or kill them - Under Emperor Hadrian, the power of the paterfamilias began to be reduced.

The #Roman Amphitheatre in #Arles, #France was built in 90AD and could seat over 20,000 people (it is still used for concerts today). After the fall of the Empire, it evolved into a fortified town, with over 200 houses, a public square and two chapels built in the arena.
