Swept back, the variable geometry wings would have nearly joined the tail. But this was too heavy leading to the more conventional approach used above. @milmodelscene @AvHistorian

"My" P-63 is a P-63E (13 built) repainted as an unarmed RP-63A/C "Pinball" Target aircraft. A pilot would fly it. It had 1,000 pounds of extra armor and sensors that lit the prop when hit by others' harmless frangible ammo.
@kadonkey @clark_aviation @Sylvia70485099 @AFmuseum @one0nine @majestic_air @AvHistoryOgre 3/ The P-63's architecture was (almost) unique. The engine was behind the pilot while the 37mm cannon was in the nose and shot through the prop. The similar P-39↖️ shows this best.↗️↘️↙️ are P-63 fighters. The USSR received about 73% of the 3,303 P-63s built. France got 300. #P63

Thus Fencer-B and subsequent models deleted them. Top speed dropped to Mach 1.35. Su-24M (Fencer-D) Су-24М модификации (Modified)...
@centerepublican @MartinKoenigsb2 @amtrackmacon3 @mini_weapons @6xW_a @F111RAF @templefugate @teaselstudio1 @one0nine 10/ The long-range, all-weather strike F-111F (106 built) could fly down to 200' at night. 25,100 lbs.thrust per engine. 1,452 mph; 2,970 mile range. Apparently in the #GulfWar it made 2,400+ sorties and destroyed more enemy tanks than the US Army.. https://t.co/gGiKZYRO21
