"My" P-63 is a P-63E (13 built) repainted as an unarmed RP-63A/C "Pinball" Target aircraft. A pilot would fly it. It had 1,000 pounds of extra armor and sensors that lit the prop when hit by others' harmless frangible ammo.

The engine was behind the pilot while the 37mm cannon was in the nose and shot through the prop. The similar P-39↖️ shows this best.↗️↘️↙️ are P-63 fighters.
