114. Another Kind by Cait May & Trevor Bream (2021) - reread for book clubs. Still one of my favs this year. All the kids loved it and wanted a sequel. Clever ideas and world building, great character designs, and re-made for a cartoon adventure.

106-109. Library Wars v10-13 by Kiiro Yumi (2012-13) - All the dominoes falling into place, the war gets seriously violent, Iku realizes she's in love w Dojo & a not-date-date. I'm going to be destroyed when I finish this series, which is why I'm lingering w the last two volumes.

I didn’t hold fandom grudges until recently and Steve Rogers going back in time to be with Peggy instead of staying in the present with Sam, Bucky, and Wanda after trauma and after saying he needed to move forward will make me rage until I die. That’s my biggest hate for Endgame.

95. Solo Leveling v1 by Dubu & Chugong (2021) - weak fighter risks life in a dangerous dungeon to save others, opens up a secret "game" in life. Cut-scene level color illustrations brings life to characters and manages to be v compelling on its own while kicking off a huge world.

92. Jane by Aline McKenna & Ramon K. Perez (2017) - modern day Jane adaptation that doesn't really do anything new w the character, the situation, or the plot.

90. Pax Samson v1: The Cookout by Rashad Doucet & Jason Reeves (2021) - brightly colored superhero family fighting for equality and safety for their world. So much fun and Pax is adorable, dealing w what he wants and how to become his own hero.

81-84. Library Wars v4-7 by Kiiro Yumi (2009-11) - this series gives me so much joy. Dojo is still so angry about his feelings for Iku, but he's starting to admit he has them. Iku just wants him to be proud of her. A lot more backstory for other characters, filling out the world.

75-76. Sailor Moon Eternal Editions 1 & 2 by Naoko Takeuchi (2013) - quintessential magical girl story. Bit harder to get into as an adult. Relationship w Tuxedo Mask made me cringe. A little too repetitive. Then tiny Sailor Moon w a gun shows up, now I have to read the next one.

74. Jukebox by Nidhi Chanani (2021) - cute time travel story about reconnecting w family through the history of music. Enjoyed it on the surface, but my kids' book club tore apart the internal logic, leaving me feeling a little flat about it. Chanani's art is still really lovely.
