and here at the very end, we finally get one shot with most expression we've seen out of any character in this masquerade of a mahou shoujo episode. (needless to say the henshin is quite degenerate and perhaps betrays the show's eroge roots)

i'd struggle to say vivid acting is exactly kou's specialty...but he does an admirable job trying to give these non-characters "business" by moving their hands around and adjusting their glasses and such. (kind of like disney acting! lol)

the distance shots are OK though. maybe the directors of this anime would have been better off keeping a safe distance from the characters the entire time, and so would the girl characters probably

more hair than personality

of course it's early shinbo so i can't totally write it off. the dramatic bits do showcase his signature style

nanoha is basically what i assumed all anime looked like (circa mid-2000s) back when i never watched anime

(i am sorry to see little highlights deviously sneaking into charlie brown's eyes however)
