CONSTANTINE: THE HELLBLAZER was the first thing I worked on my first day at DC. It was wonderful to see my old friend Ming Doyle was on the book, and I got to know and love James Tynion IV and Riley Rossmo as well. Dark, funny, beautiful. This is one of the best Constantine runs.
Crucial to the story was the mother-daughter love/hate/rivalry relationship at the heart of all this sci-fi madness. I think it's one of my favorites Simon has done, and it's a gorgeous showcase for Rachael, Felipe and Simon, who turned in big, bright, and beautiful work.
MOTHERLANDS: my first of five Vertigo books. I inherited this insane pitch from Simon Spurrier about a mother-daughter bounty-hunting team in a future where bounty-hunting is the most popular reality show in the multiverse. I thought, only Rachael Stott can draw this.
Khalid "Kent" Nassour is the first incarnation of Doctor Fate to be tied culturally and ethnically tied to the concept's mythological origins. And he's from Brooklyn. Paul and Sonny did some really clever things with this concept, including some of the best covers I've ever seen.
