I actually have something for These are a variety of fish that would be important to humans living in South-Southeast Asia. Obviously not finished, but wanted to share!

All part of research for 😁

Love them or hate them, Odobenocetops leptodon was an extremely strange whale that was as sister to Monodontidae, the family that includes the Narwhal. That being said, their tusks developed independently and in Odo, they were uneven with the right side being considerably longer!

Tucuxi (Too-coo-shi) (Sotalia fluviatilis) are the only cetacean where their common name is also their Indigenous name. Their name comes from the Tupí Language of Northern South America. Tucuxi live in both fresh and saltwater.

Nature definitely did some experimentation as to what it wanted out of small toothed cetaceans. This is the somewhat river dolphin-adjacent Eurhinodelphis, a species that would've likely used its long rostrum for prey capture as depicted. The Miocene was an incredibly weird time.

The Amazon River Dolphin (Inia geoffrensis) is by far the most well known river dolphin species. Their distinct pink color comes from a combination of age, intra-specific conflict, and abrasion from rubbing against trees and such in their environment.

I based my Navahoceros fricki/Odocoileus lucasi's colouration on the Desert Bighorn Sheep and Tibetan Argali, which live in fairly similar environments today.

Whale Day Friday celebrated with an extremely special species, the Beluga (Delphinapterus leucas)!

Despite not regularly occurring in Californian waters they're a feature of my research due to lots of media exposure and they're common-ish in aquaria!

The Common Dolphins will forever be dear to my heart. They represent the literal start of my research, looking at them looking at me is what lit the spark and a year and a half later here I am, telling this story and hopefully more to come. 😁💕🐬

Day 4: "Teeth and Claws": The Jaguar is the only animal where its Tuub'luukian name is the same as its Earth name. It means "One Who Kills In A Single Leap"!
