The Gin Craze (1700 - 1760)

"Gin" then a term for any grain-based alcohol grew in popularity due to the Gov passing legislation to restrict brandy imports and encourage gin production. Everyone from adults to children would drink an average of half a pint of gin a day.

Claggett Wilson (1887–1952)

Claggett Wilson served in WW1. He was wounded twice and never completely recovered from the effects of a mustard gas attack. When he returned from France he began documenting his experiences in a series of paintings.
