Oh no! Looks like more record hot, fiery times are ahead for the West, particularly Oregon and California in about one week. Due to ongoing conflagrations, we could be looking at more very serious disasters since fires will probably spread out of control due to another #heatwave.
Wow! While we were focused on U.S. weather a huge heat dome has built over Europe, shattering many September records. Follow @extremetemps and @EKMeteo for much more information.
Looks like #Europe will have a prolonged period of near record heat next week.
This statistic cannot be emphasized enough. Europe had an average temperature almost 1.4°C higher than that of the previous warmest winter, 2015/16.
Hot and warm anomalies are intensifying around the globe. On Monday a warm wave in eastern Europe and Russia was becoming more intense than when it was reported that temperatures hit a 133-year high in Moscow from Thursday of last week: https://t.co/GyZkbj3RaG
On this Tuesday an exceptionally frigid airmass by mid November standards is bringing record cold chill to a good chunk of North America. As usual from what we have seen in 2019, the rest of the planet, not so much.
I can't recall in my career starting in 1983 seeing a heat dome this strong or pronounced forecast by all guidance to be over the Scandinavian countries this weekend. Look for many all-time records to fall. @DekeArndt @Sustainable2050 @MichaelEMann @AarneGranlund @bhensonweather
