This week’s #FolkloreThursday theme is #SeasandRivers So here are a few of the aquatic dragons I’ve worked on in recent months. The 2nd and 4th images were private commissions, the 1st and 3rd are from the new book. 🐉

...incorporating a few modern ideas, whilst definitely striving to keep that retro-feel.

What I’m Doing Next: A Thread.
Tepui, the table-topped mountains of South America have often been suggested as possible "lost worlds" where prehistoric creatures might survive. The most famous example is Conan Doyle's novel, "The Lost World", but there are several others. (1/7)

(2/3) Using imaginary archive material, paintings and photographs the book documents a search for dragons in a small Welsh forest. These pictures are just digital mock-ups, but feature the actual art and page-spreads from the real book.

(5/6) Finally there is matching enamel pin and postcard set. These feature the dragon from the front cover of the North Wales book. The pin badge comes on a presentation card and is approximately 28mm diameter. Looks great on bags and coats!
