Currently looking into the legend of Bodo, the giant for my WIP. It is a rather stereotypical story for its time.

A local king arranges a political marriage. Bodo, the prospect, is a king of incredible wealth and influence, backed by a strong army and magical powers.

Long story short: When Tolkien et al depict abandoned cities of civilizations past that have deliberately been left to decay, they are not without research or historic precedence. In fact, these authors probably knew their stuff pretty well.

Here do emperors sleep where giants and dwarfs reside, do witches dance while the Wild Hunt haunts the night. Where demons gather power and devils built a tower. It is a place of great tales of old, some forgotten--most still told.

Which reminds me: The way my toddler reacted to the idea yesterday means I really need to write down that story about the little witch that had to take the train.

Apparently steam trains and witches go perfectly well together.

During an eclipse, solar power production will first drop then increase within minutes. However, traditional power plants also can't react fast enough to compensate, meaning that you MUST buy electricity from elsewhere for these minutes, which can be troublesome.

Obviously traders know this. So people who hold enough options have time and again manipulated the market by withholding electric power to the very last moment to inflate prices. However, these sales have real consequences as they can produce spikes of load in the power grid.

*sigh* Some stupid late night robo-call woke the baby. Little one was wide awake. Not going to write anything tonight.

Seriously, have these guys no shame?
