Record heat wave in #Chile:
Today 15 December it was the Chilean Hottest day ever recorded in December with 41.6C at San Felipe,41.2C at Llay Llay and 40.9C at Santa Maria, all in Valparaiso Region and all above the previous national record of 40.8C.

South America more extreme than ever;the coldest ever seen in November in the tropics.
Paraguay set a new November national record low with 2.8C at Pozo Hondo. Asuncion 8.0C also new record.

Greenland had a quite cool summer which was followed by a record warm September with temperature anomalies in its Plateau nearly +8C above average (left).
A sudden warm-up in the Plateau is coming from Sun to Wed with potential record high temperatures for mid October (right).

Spring heat wave in South Africa:
Yesterday temperatures rose to 41.6C at Twee Rivieren (on the border with Botswana,879m asl) and to 40.5C at Van Zylsrus at 938m.
Today Pretoria (1439m) 35.9C,Bloemfontein AP (1354m) 34.9C and Johannesburg (1624m) 33.2C.(provisional values).

South America is again with big contrasts:
A cold wave in the East reaching the tropics: rain and just daytime temperatures of 20C-25C in Eastern Paraguay and very hot (near record levels) in the Amazons with 39C in Peru, In the Brazilian State of Acre and in Cobija Bolivia.

Exceptional cold on 25 September in the Balkans and Northern Greece.
Florina (617m asl) dropped to -1.4C a new record low for September (previous -1.0C in Sept 1977) and the village of Vovousa (1024m) to -1.6C,the lowest ever recorded in September in Greece in an inhabited place.

Central Asia Heat Wave:Impressive anomalies persist in Siberia with temperatures today again above 30C as far north as 55N of latitude in Kurgan and Omsk Oblasts,unprecedented that late.
In Central Asia near 40C north of 40N of latitude in Turkmenistan (also exceptional).

After a record hottest first half of September,Siberia and Central Asia are living another intense heat wave.
Today 23 September still >30C in Siberia north of 52N at Orsk.
Over 38C in Turkmenistan,37C in Kazakhstan and 36C in NW China at Turpan.
