China Heat Wave:Terribly hot day in Xinjiang today with 46.5C at Turpan. Nights will have nearly 35C of Min. temperatures. The heat will increase in the East with record hot conditions in Henan Province. The capital Beijing will rise to 38C on Saturday. Stay tuned.

A new, intense and long heat wave in Middle East is already bearing its first "fruits":Today 4 June Middle East recorded the first 50C of 2022 with 50.0C at Jahra in Kuwait,also 49.7C at Sulaibya and Al Wafra. Temperatures will rise further with 50C expected also in Iraq and Iran

Yesterday 15 May was a hot day in Northern Spain (Basque Region,Balearic Islands) and Southern France with temperatures above 32C. First 30C of 2022 for Switzerland,Albania and Montenegro. This week Europe will be split by a heat wave in the West and a Cold Spell in the East.

While Central and Eastern Mediterranean are under persistent cool conditions, a warm spell kicked off in the SW. Yesterday 7 May Spain reached 34.1C (new 2022 European max. except Turkey & Cyprus),while today Morocco rose to 39.1C. Within 2 days France will also reach >30C.

A severe heat wave is looming in NW Africa.Yesterday Matam,Senegal rose to 47.7C,while Aioun El Atrous,Mauritania had a min. temp. of 35.5C. The heat will spread to Morocco where 42-43C are expected and to SW Europe where Spain and Portugal will have their first taste of summer.

Another hot spot these days is between Northern Chad and Southern Libya. Today 28 April Faya-Largeau in Chad rose to 46.5C (highest synop), only 0.2C from the Chadian highest temperature in April. Temperatures are expected to rise further and extend to Egypt.

South America Heat Wave:Today 25 April was the 2nd day of this exceptional heat wave. Temperatures reached 39C in Paraguay. Next night will see local min. temperatures near 30C and tomorrow 40C can be reached. Stay tuned.

Update on the East Asia Heatwave:Today 24 April temperatures reached 38.2C in China, 37.2C in Taiwan and over 30C in both Koreas. The heat wave will further intensify in the next 2 days towards the Eastern parts of the area.

What a change in #Spain in few days:After the summer temperatures (up to 33C) winter sharply returned specially in the highlands. Snowflakes fell in areas of Avila,Burgos and Soria even below 1000m asl and a cold rainy week is expected.

After sunny and mild days, most of Europe will see a return to wintry conditions with low level snowfalls followed by frosts in widespread areas of Central Europe with a considerable risk of crop damage. The wintry conditions might last over a week.
