Central Asia Heat Wave:Today 22 September temperatures still exceed 30C in parts of Siberia. Exceptional heat in the Caspian Sea area with nearly 40C at Esenguly in Turkmenistan. Over 35C also in Xinjiang ,NW China
The heat will persist the whole week.

Australia between record heat in the North and heavy rain in the East
High temperature records today with 42.7C at Derby in Western Australia,a monthly record and only 0.4C from the Australian September record.
It's also the hottest Australian day ever prior to the spring equinox

While the cold air is moving towards Eastern Mediterranean,the hot air mass is also moving East towards Siberia and Mongolia.
Today temperature reached 30C again above 55N latitude at Ust Tarka and Tatarsk in Novosibirsk Oblast and at Pavlogradka,Omsk Oblast 54N among others.

While Central Europe is with intense cold, very high temperatures transferred from Western Mediterranean (France/Spain) to Eastern Mediterranean (Greece and Turkey).
Today 17 September Turkey rose to 42.8C at Cizre,while Greece rose to 39.3C at Krieza.

An intense and long heat wave is underway in the Caucasus,Middle East and Central Asia.
Yesterday Cizre in Turkey rose to 45.3C.
In the next days,some September heat records will be challenged in several countries specially in Russia,Georgia and Kazakhstan. Stay tuned.

After some cool days, a new heat wave is affecting Morocco.
Yesterday 21 August the temperature rose to 47.3C at Taroudant,46.2C at Guelmin,44.7C at Kasba Tadla and 44.5C at Ben Guerir. A new wave is starting from SW Europe in Spain and Portugal) and will move north in few days.

First cold air masses are seen in Siberia and Central Asia with the decline of the season.
Rare early cold temperatures and frosts affected parts of Southern Siberia,Mongolia and even Kazakhstan where Leninogorsk (50N,800m asl) today had its earliest frost since 2011.

Yesterday 15 July the station of Hillston Airport in New South Wales,Australia dropped to -6.0C,its lowest temperature on records. This is the first station worldwide with a long POR to set an all time cold record in 2022. Instead,143 set a new all time high.
