Felt like painting a warrior froggo this weekend. More than a little inspired by Frazetta. Maybe I'll add color and finish it tomorrow 🐸
Another comfy saturday painting from RAGE 2. Ended up using really large messy brushes at first and then progressively sharper and less textured brushes, and working fairly zoomed out the whole time. I think the painting came out better for it, satisfying detail up close :o
Experimented with workflow today. The idea was write steps, estimate times and set timers for steps. Steps were write ideas, AI thumbnails with Artbreeder, 3D sketch, 2D draw-over, refine 3D, feed through fotosketcher, and paint.
With yesterday's release new #Cyberpunk2077 gameplay I think I'm officially aboard the hype train now. Looks like the Deus Ex sequel I always wished for. I'm preparing for launch the best way I can, by making studies, so here's a painting of Jackie.
Some more #boxcutter sketching based on Star Citizen concept art. I really love keeping everything organized with collection instances and naming. Makes it easy to keep expanding even when the amount of objects balloons out of control. Group Pro for Blender has been helpful :o
Felt like doing another one of these studies before hopping back into Unity to finish up the VR world project. Every brushstroke I add tends to generate visual noise so I used tons of filters to remove it. Magic wand selections are kind of amazing when you don't use antialiasing.
Felt like working on some Half-Life: Alyx paint studies for a bit to get a break from all the VR map making stuff. Wild how quickly you can plop down ideas in 2D compared to 3D... need to invest more time in this stuff again :o
Been playing more HL:A lately and damn that game looks great. Too hot lately, so instead of continuing other projects I felt like painting and listening to some Stardew Valley music. Also bonus BL3 lootbox 3D model that I lost the texture to because I forgot to save it >.>
I finally cracked the case on interactive NPR viewport in Blender after a lot of experimentation. It somehow never occurred to me that bevel mod can be used to create internal lines. Super simple setup, no addons. Picture in reply :) #b3d
