Some rather hurried sketches from my sanctioned daily exercise - in the park and by the river

This completes the little fox/wolf tetralogy (Grimms 72-75) - the fox beats the wolf 2-1, but then loses to the cat.

All the animals were God's, except goats, which were the devil's. But the goats were trouble - their long tails got tangled up in things and they kept eating the crops, so the devil bit off their tails and put out their eyes (but then was sorry and gave them his own eyes).

So, I also did a picture book (for personal development, not publication) based on this story, though with various changes - a bottle not a chamber pot, two girls as characters, and various tweaks to the story. But still lots of giant fish and extravagant wishes.

Meanwhile, I'm in the middle of drawing *my last Grimm*, but I still have around 26 to post.

The hedgehog can't bear that the hare is mocking him for his short legs and so challenges him to a race. It's unwinnable, but the hedgehog (and his wife) have plan. I enjoyed the nearly-Dutch dialect and the literary style.

Gambling Hansel has tricked Death into getting stuck in a magic fruit tree, so that he can keep on gambling. No one is dying and everyone in Heaven and Hell is getting rather annoyed. And all this in the most impenetrable German dialect I've ever seen.
