Happy New Year! A very big THANK YOU to all the people who asked me to paint a bird on a map for them last year, you kept me in work and feeling useful! The birds flew off to all corners of the country, carrying a connection to place and memory with them.
Detail of one of my limited edition prints, Wast Water painted on an old map. How many of you have swum in the deepest Lake in England?
What’s on the studio table today- Arctic Skua on a map of Shetland and surrounding waters, still a bit of work to do but the afternoon light was working its magic on it🌞thanks to @david_gange for the suggestion.
This has been sitting in the corner of the studio for months, had another stab at it today going to try and rescue it tomorrow. If I manage it it’ll join the rest of the work at Northern Lights Gallery a few days into my exhibition “A bird’s eye view” which opens tomorrow 10am.
Small collection of bird paintings. They’ll be available from the Northern Lights Lights Gallery in Keswick soon!
Beginnings of a larger painting, nice to have a change of scale.
Wast Water. Change in surface today, just plain old watercolour paper.
Update on available #artistsupportpledge paintings...... details over on Instagram or message me thanks!
Detail from “Showers around Catbells” still a bit of work to do on this one...
