This painting of Mamich-Berdei being taken to Ivan the Terrible is from the same series. Quite rare to have depictions of Finno-Ugric rulers from before the 19th century. I'll have to see if I can find any more such pieces.
One of the central figures in Selkup mythology is the cultural hero Iča. Iča is the Selkup equivalent of the mediator archetype, like Kalevipoeg of the Estonians and Mir-Susne-Hum of the Ob-Ugrians. He is a warrior, shaman, deity and king and patron of the Selkup people.
Paintings drawn by Nicholas Roerich on his trips to Karelia between 1913 and 1918. Roerich was keenly interested in Karelia and spent time learning about the culture and myths of Karelians, Finns and Samis.
