Retrogaming of the 8 and 16 bit variety. That's my jam. 😎

The really nice thing with Battle Through Time is that the enemy attack patterns are different on each level, so you have to sometimes adjust your strategy to meet the threat. And, if you're good enough to loop it.. Boom! 💥 The volcano erupts. 😮 Nice. 😁

I hadn't looked at Battle Through Time for a long while. (Maybe 20+ years since I tried it.) I'm glad I tried it again this week. It's very well done. IMHO scrolling is a little fast at times, but it plays very very well. 👍
8/10 Would battle again. 😁

It was one of those interesting finds. 🤔 I didn't seek it out, or see a good review. I just got to play it at a friends place.. a lot. 😁 I think it hooked me well. 🤔 Now I'm a little unsure on if I still like it, or it's all nostalgia. 😋

Not bad for a first game then. 👍
That might explain why it's a little unorthodox in its execution. 🤔 But, like 90% games on the C64, I wish it was a little easier. 😁 Guess I should be prepared to cheat in the sequel quite quickly. 🤣

All the tracks are one long video-stream of CG track and landscapes. And the host - Lance Boyle - is as over the top as a show host in a game like this should be. Though, unfortunately, some of his bits get a bit repetitive. But this is early CD ROM stuff. Just fill the disk! 😁

Into the real serious gaming this weekend: MegaRace! This was one of those *early* CD-ROM 💿 DOS games. I didn't have a PC back then, but one of my friends did, and this racing game made quite an impression on me. It just revels in its ridiculousness, and I admire it for that. 👍

Yup. And if they can do that, this late in the days of Commodore platforming, I think that's quite something.
They manage to fit a lot of content on each screen, give multiple paths through the level.. shooting, parachuting.. it's an interesting combination. 👍

These days, it's a little hard for me. Much less frustrating with a cheat or two. The darned guy just wants to fall off platforms all the time. 😐 But it's got a unique game design I admire, and beautiful sounds and graphics all over the place. I dares you not to love it. 😁

Okay, back to some C64 dexterous joysticking. 🤔 Is that a word? Summer Camp! One that I found on the C64 of a family I used to babysit for. Was an interesting platformer, with a unique feel to it. An achievement in a world full of platform games. 😁 A real challenging one. 🕹️
