@CommodoreBlog @ResetC64 Ha! I'm the day after. 😁
But I only took that day off because .. y'know .. work .. getting ready for all the students to come back in another week.
But I'll be getting in some good retro-gaming on that day, I tell ya! 😎
@CrazyCollector1 I was playing around with the prequel to Spellbound the other day. 🤔 I must actually get round to trying Spellbound itself again sometime soon. There's nothing startlingly original about the game-play, but it's all beautifully polished. (And has that kicking Hubbard soundtrack.)
@FREEZE64UK This is an amazingly good port. Especially considering how early it was on the C64 timeline. 👍 I just love the graphic style. 😎
@StooCambridge Heh .. I can look at those screenshots, and I know pretty well where on which level all of those were taken. I think Cannon Fodder is burned into my brain. 😋
(which isn't a bad thing..)
Oddly enough, once I'd actually progressed to the end of the game, it was the status screen that gave me the real clue as to what I was supposed to be doing. (Most of the levels seem to involve collecting something for points.) I'm curious if the original instructions would help.
Alice in Videoland might be one of the first C64 games I remember seeing on demo at the local computer shop. I think it went in the right direction, with the large, colourful graphics. But the gameplay is a little lacking, IMHO. And it was hard to work out what to do, sometimes..
