@000Angus000 @rexthedogge Okay, I'll bite. 😋 This game was probably responsible for a good portion of my University procrastination. 😁 First played it on floppy-disk on an A1200 (let the aliens take a turn, then go get a cup of tea).. right up until I had the accelerated A4000 040/40MHz. Great stuff. 👍
@PaulieHughes We were shown that Elite can be done in 2D ..
Asteroids? Just make 'em big squares! 😁
(Okay, I kinda liked Empire, in a weird steam-punk-y kinda way..) 😎

@rexthedogge It was one of the first ones I played when I got the A500. So I was amazed at the full overscan loading pic. 😮 It even supports analogue stick (but I don't think there's a way to calibrate, which is a shame.) And after F-15 and Stealth Fighter on the C64, I was right at home. 😁
@Al82_Retro Chaos Engine is such a stunningly good game. Sure, if you liked sports games, and could battle it out with someone else, Speedball could be more your jam. But a steam-punk world with mutated creatures to fight? It doesn't get any more perfect than that. 😋
@000Angus000 @dantemendes WipeOut was similarly cruel to Powerdrome in that hitting the edge of the track would stop you dead - but they fixed that in the sequels. And you really only had to worry about left/right steering in WipeOut. With airbrakes to lean into corners it was so much more accessible. 😎
@HighScore @newIapetus Mutants!
Love that game. 😁 Though it can be a hard one to get into. Until you've worked out the right weapon for a sector it can be quite brutal. 😐 And even if you have, things can go pear-shaped in a hurry..
@davidmt No problem. 👍
IMHO the Trap Door game is the 'better' game. They're both 2.5D - you can walk into the background/foreground. But the Popeye game presents the world in a strictly 2D manner, so you might not realise that at first. 😁 (He also programmed the similar-looking Flunky)
@russty_russ One Man and His Droid might be my most-played Mastertronic game. 😎
@DrTomTilley The Amiga one is about on par with Pinball Illusions. But after playing Dreams and Fantasies on iPhone, and Slam Tilt on Windows, and being able to see all of the table.. I kinda start to wish that all of the Amiga versions had high-res options. 😎
