@RetroFaith1 But I'd feel like I was being unfaithful to C64 Melissa if I started playing around with PC Melissa. 😋
@JazRignall Huh.. I was sure I had a copy of this issue. Can't seem to find it in my box of magazines. {shrugs} Probably swiped by my brother. 😋
Some excellent stuff in there. Bubble Bobble was such an incredibly good arcade conversion. And Mega Apocalypse? Well, it had balls. 🤣
@JudgeDrokk @EverythingC64 @RetroGamer_Mag Oh, Beach Head and Raid Over Moscow were such excellent games. 👍
@toonstyle1981 When they were both new it had to be PlayStation.
The N64 was also late to the game. I had a couple of friends who were really keen to wait for the N64, but gave up and went PlayStation. Probably a good thing as the software library was huge.
But now, it's fun to have both. 😁
@thalamusdigital I can hear the music already..
😁
[sorry, I have no artwork. just a ton of great memories of the game] 😎
@C64Reloaded Some good games in that issue.
Of course Leaderboard was amazing — and, IMHO, remains the best game of the franchise. Boulderdash III was fun, until I found the bad level layouts. Sentinel was uniquely brilliant. And Slamball was the best pinball in a monsters stomach ever. 😋
@JudgeDrokk @DrCaligari72 @C64Reloaded The alternative was, if you had a datasette, to plug it in and press "play". The game couldn't tell the difference. 😁
(Still works with https://t.co/gclbq1UT0i's C64 Preservation Project .g64 disk images of Leaderboard and 10th Frame.)
@segamstim I'm one of the lucky guys at work testing Win 11.
I'm used to the icons in the middle, but I'm still not able to set the taskbar to show labels of running apps and show each window. Also can't drag to taskbar icon then app window, to drag and drop to an app that's not visible. 😡
