@GDHCAMERO @gamesyouloved @theretrobyte @C64TimeLine @TheGavNinja The only one I dislike is the Root Beer arcade version..
I'm so used to the drink being, well, a beer colour. And the different uniform for the guy, as he's no longer a barman. ..I understand the changes, I just don't like them. 😁
@GDHCAMERO @gamesyouloved @theretrobyte @C64TimeLine @TheGavNinja {controversial}
My favourite version.. 😉
@GDHCAMERO @gamesyouloved @theretrobyte @C64TimeLine @TheGavNinja Tapper is such a cool game. 👍
@rexthedogge @newIapetus So Kikstart 1 and 2: I can see how I could play an re-play them many many times as a kid. And, in fact, sinking crazy hours into it was the only way to learn the tracks. But adult me would love a little more consideration given to the player, so he could enjoy it more. 😋
@rexthedogge @newIapetus Similarly: Airwolf.
I played that many many times as a kid. I could rescue multiple men.. Today? I can play it for two minutes before I break. After half an hour and I'm curled up in the fetal position in the corner of the room quietly whimpering to myself. This game is brutal 😐
@rexthedogge @newIapetus Don't get me wrong. They're cool games. If you take time to learn a track, it's rewarding to ace it. But if I were designing it, I'd space things out a little more and warp the bike to check-points with a time penalty, so you're not spending all day slow-riding to the next bit 😋
@rexthedogge @newIapetus The thing with the Kickstart games .. I think maybe they tried to cram too many obstacles close together. When you're new to a course, it's like failure at one point makes it impossible to pass the next bit too, and maybe the one after that.. which doesn't encourage people. 😋
@FlightDreamz Probably worth noting that fire swipes the sword, crouch to pick-up ammo, but then once you have ammo, fire will fire the gun. (There's no way to use the sword while you have ammo, yeah?) And also space-bar fires a fireball. Without a map, you have to guess the side to exit. 😁
@fuzzweed @ryangoodsell @subchrist IK+ would be one heck of a challenge, coz two of the players are sprites, while the other one (or three, in the pause-mode) are characters.🤔 Though I'm not sure if Archer Maclean does any fancy char ⇆ sprite translation on the fly.
