@rexthedogge I quite liked Way of the Tiger on the C64.
Though I readily admit, it's not a great game. 😋
But it's certainly pretty..
@000Angus000 @AmigaL0ve I had that one on the right.. Amiga version.
I enjoyed wandering around aimlessly in those games. But then there were these "puzzle" things that I couldn't be bothered with. 😋
(Screenshots from the C64 version, coz I haven't screen-snapped the Amiga one yet.) 📷
@FlightDreamz Note that, while the C64 Scene Database seems to only have one of the Activision Demo Disks, the C64 Preservation Project only has three (numbered 1, 3, and 7) ..so it seems that there might be some others knocking around out there that I'd dearly love to see. Mmmm... Demo Disks.
@C64Reloaded @Il_Paradroide @TheGavNinja Yup. Exactly right.
Ultimate made some games I really loved on the C64: Underwurlde, Staff of Karnath, and Entombed. 🤔 But that's about where it stops for me.
@AmigaL0ve I love running things from HDD, coz I had an A500 for many long years, and the pain of waiting for loading off of DF0, and swapping disks still hurts. 😋 But collecting screenshots here DotC in WHDLoad was loading *too* quick, so I setup a plain A500 machine and loaded from that.
@AmigaL0ve Whoah there! Lets not go bumping the frame-rate up to 60Hz! 😮 I've specially got a screen that I can run at a steady PAL 50Hz. ..and my reactions are getting slow in my old age, so I need every advantage I can get. 😋 (I still get knocked off the horse every damned time.) 😐
@AmigaL0ve Ah, so it's more like raiiiiiiiiin, on your wedding day.
Bugger. 😐
I gave up on keeping the old hardware up and running.. mostly coz I'm lazy. 😋 But it's good to know that I can still find the occasional software failure, even in emulation. (My one was Defender of the Crown.)
@Il_Paradroide @C64Reloaded @TheGavNinja I could forgive Entombed's completely random puzzles because back then we didn't really question such things, and I had a Zzap walkthrough. 😁 But puzzles in the later ones are so random, and need as much luck as skill to get through, so they frustrate me. Just not my thing. 🤔
@TheGavNinja @C64Reloaded So.. Now that I'm older, I checked out Dragonskulle. Getting past that first screen is ridiculous, so I wasn't set-up to like it. The dragons are impressive, but the gameplay just rubs me the wrong way. So I'll stand by my bonfire comment. 😋 But the cover-art is nice, as always.
