Up and down the farm track grow scattered drifts of honesty.The recent winds have stripped the last of its silver seed heads but also exposed the new flowers that have just opened. The cycle of life, plain to see, equal measures of sadness & joy in a simple flower

Who killed cock Robin?Sadly I think the cold snap & lack of food was to blame.This young male was skin & bone under his fresh young feathers.We found him lying on his back on the new path at the end of the farm far from the bird feeders. Life is hard for little birds in winter

Purple witch’s butter or Ascocoryne sarcoides that I found growing on the chopped up aerial root of ivy under an old Apple tree. Bright purple Jelly fungus well that’s new to me even though it’s described as common!

The pussywillow is out in time for .This year it’s the 25th of January & is the year of the rat. In China it’s flowers are symbolic of grown & wealth so happy ChineseNew Year especially to my late father who was born there 90 years ago
