It's not for everyone. I read it before I saw it, back in the 80s, and loved it. But my kids... not so much. 'Dad, what was the fuss about?'

I have, of course, disowned them but I accept their viewpoint.

To be fair to the universe here, I think a limited nuclear exchange rather than a war is most likely, or a single event (terror or rogue state related). But if I had to actually 'choose' one, I'd go with Aliens.
