There is a slightly obscene nature to doughnuts that I never noticed until I asked my art kids to take bites out of them and draw them. I mean, we were literally just drawing what we saw but, I guess that’s the nature of doughnuts. Now that I’ve seen it, I can’t unsee it.
We had a doughnut pARTy in Advanced Drawing today. Here is my once-bitten crueller. We listened to 1950s diner music. So, I called it “Don’t Be Crueller.”
Get it!?!?
I finally tried my June Scrawlerbox supplies. They sort of leaked all over the box. The prompt was, “Ethereal Entity.” I decided to do my interpretation of Weena from H. G. Wells’ The Time Machine. I won’t spoil the story for any of you who haven’t read it. But, it was sad.
Alberta is famous for its big blue sky…just not today, as we’re smothered in wildfire smoke. 🤧 This is my response to June’s Paletteful prompt, #todaysweather .
M mommy is playing around with her June Paletteful Pack supplies and responding to the prompt, “destination.” When we went on our epic road trip to Southern California, I made friends with an emotional trauma support dog named Silver Dollar.
Here is the quick little plein air study I did at Carburn Park yesterday, before I melted into a puddle and dribbled into the lagoon.
I’m all caught up with my subscription box prompts — for now.
May’s Paletteful Pack had an entire pad of Canson watercolour paper, 3 water brushes, a Uniball white gel pen, and some Nicholson’s Peerless Watercolours. I am honestly finding these little bits of paper pre-loaded with paint difficult to work with. Prompt #butterflies
The May Sketchbox contained oil pastels, some pencil crayons, 3?small canvas panels, and a colour shaper.
