Just making marks instead of rendering everything. Impressions and feelings rather than what I would hand off to a modeler
Poking at some old sketches and getting a better sense of the potential of the Mixer Brush. Manipulating the 'Wet' parameter on the fly gives a good feel
@jeffzugale @kayondray No, but I remember those. This came from looking at a couple basic Puppeteer Lee demos back when the Mixer Brush in PS was still questionable, though I departed from his methods. The Sargent Brush does some interesting things I haven't seen duplicated elsewhere. Quick demo:
Some very old concepts that all had something lacking in the final result. I realize in hindsight that I wanted most of all to build them and see them moving around and doing things and there was an essence I failed to communicate that I might revisit in 3D
@mrfunnycloudy Usually I'll start with a rough sketch, but sometimes it makes more sense to do a basic model if it needs to transform or be seen in a particular way. In many ways this design is a more grounded exploration of this mech concept I did for GALAHAD 3093 so I kind of cheated here
There's atmosphere and inspiration, then there's what to give the modelers so they don't hate you. 😅 Working where a lot of the modeling was outsourced was a big part of why I got into 3D to avoid communication and quality issues
While I kind of like this painterly approach to define massing I think I really do prefer linework to convey detail
A little more of the same. Some new work soon and maybe some announcements
