TFW you break the link to your LUT and the raw textures turn your Breath of Fire homage into Aliens Vs Predator (vs Dragons?)

I forgot to tag yesterday..
Making up for it with a screenshot..sunday?

The water is still rough, but I have a sense of how I want to to look. Pretty, but hardly "blue."

Just need to crank out variations, animate the water's edge, and polish polish polish!

This allows to do really interesting shapes with relatively low effort and fewer objects, fewer assets - like this polygonal transition into shadow (circled) or the repeating texture (cross) over a non-rectified shape.

Seamingly minor QOL features like this go a looooong way!

Water sure as heck doesn't need collision!

Also realized today that Godot (at least, 3.2.3) allows you to set repeating texture on a polygon2d. This is _extremely_ convenient and looks way cleaner than the mess of rects I'd been using.

I wonder how long that's been a feature??

Finally creating these assets in earnest!

Most of the dev for the past few months has been code and writing...feels good to be drawing again https://t.co/8CN42Vx6XE

Going through old work, not sure if I ever actually posted this 100% science based study of a shibu bibu in flight

Hah the robe isn’t usually see through and probably won’t translate to sprites...but I may have been channeling your sketch/final from earlier !

Re cheekbones, for a while it was his only defining feature...at least his only consistent one...the rest is harder to nail down...

Here are some of my best small sprites in terms of finding a balance between scale and detail.

But compared to much older work I did...the same thoughts are there: simplify design, and reduce contrast/frequency of low-info marks!
