Nothing against the cutesy nekothingies that are basically everywhere these days, but cat girls really peaked in the 80’s and early 90’s.
Like having cute ears and tiny fangs is great, but what’s important is that they could wreck you in a fight (without being meatstacks.)
I also love the development of Pili's character so far, but can't share any of it, bc even if it takes several more years I do want to release this game eventually, and knowing literally anything about Pili other than her name and general appearance constitutes a massive spoiler.
Just noticed Dian (Long) has straight up tits in the 1st sketch.
That's bc they came from an earlier char, Chaya, whose story revolved around her struggle against the destructive nature of her dragon heritage.
Motifs from Chaya's storyline were split btwn Dian, Pili and Chime.
They started out so slender and elfin! And Pili looks practically caucasian in that Db32 palette.
I way prefer their more recent, rounder-faced variations. Besides matching the sprites better, they just have 10x the charm. The earliest drawings took things way too seriously.

Spent all day on the road and fell asleep before I could finish this Amano-inspired “warrior of light” for @Pixel_Dailies #headband challenge - still enjoyed it, may finish at some point or leave it as an energetic sketch.
