Of course, Louis XV's Polish consort was a devout Catholic. She is nonetheless dressed as a bourgeoise rather than a queen in her portrait by Nattier, exhibited at the 1748 Paris Salon. Known for her piety and dignified reserve, she can be seen turning the pages of an open Bible.
