Creating a unit in the summer term for Y5 using ‘Caleb’, ‘The Watertower’, its sequel ‘Beneath the Surface’ and Morpurgo’s ‘Giants Necklace’. The Reading and Viewimg book by Swaney is pretty useful Chris. May want to check it out.

Finally got round to reading this beautiful graphic novel by @scottmccloud full of love, loss & loneliness. To the person who donated a pristine copy of this to a charity bookshop, Thank You.

A pleasure to hear @nicolakidsbooks read not one, but three books. A talk that focused on biodiversity, the process of writing and her latest, ‘The day war came’; all underpinned by the thread of nature that runs through lots of her work. #picturebooks #nature #RR__South

@Mr_K_Teacher I’d choose ‘If all the world were...’ by @Poetryjoe. Massively important to celebrate quality, authentic texts that reflect different realities than our own.
Also, as a picturebook, my secret hope is that it’ll unlock the amazing potential that texts like these have for readers.

Can't wait for the release of this from @davidjalmond and Levi Pinfold. What a perfect pairing of author and illustrator. Beautifully evocative of the northern landscape. I feel some deeply emotional writing coming from this in the Autumn term.
