Three I remember. All dissected and taken apart but still enjoyed. Didn’t beat reading the Hobbit with my Y6 teacher though (long before RfP had to be reintroduced).
Remember the cover of Animal farm vividly. Other two were probably syllabus covers.

Beautiful book. Asked Joe in to school off the back of meeting him at an event and the class wrote some really memorable poetry based around this. Love what Alison brings to the illustrations too. Reminded me of John Burningham’s ‘Granpa’ and Benji Davies’ ‘Grandad’s Island’.

Can’t wait to play games like Florence. Currently working through Celeste and Oxenfree. What are some of your favourites, ?

Thank you, Roger! Great to have you in it - and superb comments about Perfectly Norman. A truly supportive and friendly face to see when presenting to a whole room. Used to children, still getting there with adults! 😉

Session 4 of our West London Reading Group kicks off today at 4:30-6:30. We’re at the Alligator’s Mouth Bookshop in Richmond. Hot topic of discussion will be Poetry and Graphic Novels. Looking forward to sharing our project updates and blethering about books.

Know we chatted about some of these on Friday. One contains talking fruit but thankfully no odd socks in sight. The other has just been released by Walker - a great collaboration of Sean Taylor and Ben Mantle.

Reposting these from previous chats we’ve had about the subject. L-R is David Almond and Dave McKean’s The Savage, Silverfin (Young Bond). Used Edith’s TMG this year alongside the Philippa Pearce classic. Explorer is edited by the creator of the Amulet series. 3/3

Amulet series is a must. Check Amazing Spider-Man and Ms. Marvel before you put out on shelves. As with all books, some graphic novel content will be suitable for different ages/maturity levels. 2/3
