A necessary watch. Plenty to reflect, & most importantly act, on. I will be exploring the sources cited & trying to ensure that literature, esp. texts studied in school, reflect the wide range of diverse voices & backgrounds. Let’s help dismantle the walls & invite everyone in. https://t.co/jVcw4IY6HH
@katehitchings1 @stubbleagent turns out your book is covered in Year 4 at Green Dragon school. They’re big fans. Had two teachers visit me today to see Creative Writing.
On a side note, They suggested ‘undulates’ for the final title. As long as Charlie’s moving up or down it might work? 🤔😉
@inkytentacles Sad to hear. Only visited last month. Picked up some of the children’s graphic novels and treated myself to the East of West volume 1. With such a good subject knowledge, I hope you find a way to continue to share your expertise.
Can happily recommend a few for a future newsletter. Brought this with me today:
Stunning work. Once I’ve finished my current TRP. Definitely exploring more... #MangaExhibition
@thatboycanteach @strangelymagic @OnjaliRauf @frankcottrell_b @gill__lewis @AlabedBana @SitaBrahmachari @Naidoo_J2J @ABagForKatie @Frenci_San Here are some picturebooks and information books that might be worthwhile getting in (if you don’t have them already).
@ClubPicturebook Interesting, with so many children's texts the agency is on the child, usually away from the parents - there are only a few that sprung to mind. 'My Dad's a Birdman', although strictly not a picturebook, is an ex. of a father being caring, empathetic & loving - rare in ch lit.lit
@charliehacking @ClareHelenWelsh @AshlingLindsay @LittleTigerUK Looks like a really good accompaniment to our creative writes which have had a water theme lately...
